Students are introduced to the world of financial and IT practice. Bookkeeping and Payroll modules provide learners with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to pursue an administrative career in the financial or accountancy sectors.

Modules include: Bookkeeping Manual & Computerised, Payroll Manual & Computerised, Spreadsheet Methods, Information and Administration, Text Production, Database Methods, Word Processing, Work Experience.

This course offers progression options for learners to programmes in Universities and Institutes of Technology.  Students who complete this major QQI award at Level 5 are eligible to apply through the CAO system for entry into participating courses in the QQI Higher Education Links Scheme (HELS)

Graduates go on to secure employment in administrative affairs within a range of service-related industries, including hotels, schools, hospitals, financial/accountancy practices and within the retail sector.

QQI Level 5 Financial Administration Major Award – Subject to QQI Validation

A minimum Ordinary Level Leaving Certificate standard of education or equivalent education or experience.  An applicant whose first language is not English or who has not been educated wholly or mainly in the medium of English will be expected to reach, before commencing a programme, a suitable minimum level of competence in English in order to participate fully in the Programme.  Learners are required to demonstrate an English proficiency level equivalent to International English Language Testing Score (IELTS 5.5) and/or other recognised equivalent international English language test.  Learners will be required to submit evidence of their English proficiency.
